HAILING THE GULLS - CANVEY ISLAND - 17-11-07

Another from Canvey Island. I deliberately kept the tones warm with this one.

I learnt something about photo processing this week. Sometimes I've noticed banding on some of my photos. I've been thinking it may be a lens defect, but I've now discovered that it's a consequence of 8-bit processing. So from now on, I'll be doing all the major processing at 16-bit. I have also noticed some circular halos on a few shots - all with the 24-105. Don't know what's causing them. Perhaps a lens hood or filter issue? It doesn't happen often, but I would like to know what causes it.
