julie, natalia and lily

Sorry for the delay in posting. This shot was taken the weekend before
last, up on the Downs above Kingston. Another in my series of people out
and about in Sussex. I like the shot, but on balance it's not quite as
successful as some of my photos involving individuals. I suspect that
for group shots to really succeed it takes more than just the sum of the
individuals, even if, as in this case, they all photograph well. There
is some intangible dynamic involved that makes a group shot work photographically.

This weekend's second 'streetscape' - taken in South London in the Greenwich/Deptford
        area a few years ago.

A couple of 'streetscapes' from the archives this weekend. Both taken
in South London in the Greenwich/Deptford area a few years ago. I fiddled
with the colours on this one and arrived at a palette that gives it a
slightly faded print look which I rather like.

Another taken at Wakehurst. Shame the path is tilted. People should be
more considerate to photographers when they construct these things.

tree (wakehurst place)

Taken at Wakehurst place last November. I particularly liked the twisted,
sculptural nature of this tree. Mono seems to emphasise these qualities
        better than colour.

This was taken on London photowalk late last year. I have only just got
round to processing it. I tend to take a rather 'cherry picking' approach
to processing - I should perhaps be rather methodical.

One from the archives. This was taken a couple of years ago, early on
a rather chilly September morning. The low cloud resulting in a wonderfully
        even and understated illumination.

The Pevensey Levels. This was shot wide open. I've become fixated by
        puddles as foreground.

Something a bit different today. This was taken at Wakehurst place. I
really liked the deep green of the lawn in the fading light.

under the trees 2

The second 'under the trees' shot. This was one I entered for the Garden
Photographer of the Year - a bit of a punt really on the basis that it
might be somewhat unlike most of the material they would receive. I like
the mid-ground focusing with narrow depth of field approach - really gives
a 3D look, particularly with this type of subject matter.

under the trees

Taken in one of the small copses of trees on Crowborough Common. Part
of a growing series of 'under the trees' shots. More of which will be
featured in due course. My general inclination is that this series will
be in black and white, but I think I marginally prefer this shot in colour.
